A Blog When I Have So Much To Finish

Hey All!

First of all, if you didn't hear, I passed my portfolio and can now officially graduate!! So happy am I!

So I have a huge rhetoric of film paper due Friday and a huge American Cinema paper due Sunday. So what am I doing? Writing a blog, obviously.

I'm starting to get so overwhelmed with all the stuff I'm trying to do before I head out to LA, which, as far as my count goes, is about two and a half months. I need to buy a plane ticket, arrange to have my car shipped, sell furniture and books...and the list goes on, but yes, definitely I need some more money for this trip. Not trip, life. I know God is going to provide but I get nervous when it comes to money, always.

I think I need more sugar in my tea. Oh well.

The count for graduation is down to 19 days. Just 19 more days and I get to graduate. I'm excited that my mom, sister and brother are coming to see me, that will be good. My sister will even be here for the film festival on Wednesday, where we'll be premiering the 7 Minute Lull, which was a film we thought would never get made.

I'm good right now but I miss my friends who are away, always. Like, when I want to watch the Office or go to Panera, I really wish Loni was here. Or if I want to take a walk, I wish John was around. Luckily, I'll see all my homies when I get back to Boston. I say, "Let's have fun cheap times while I'm home." Because I'm poor. :-)

I don't really have a lot of constructive things to say, but I did want to post again.

I will have fun stuff soon, I'm sure!

First Post in 2008

Wow, I say I'm going to keep up a blog and the last post was basically about a December snowfall and "Oh how exciting that is." It would still be exciting , except a bit more...um...April. Anyway, I just wanted to let anyone who might care know that I'm updating with some fun stuff about me.

First of all, I just came back ( a few weeks ago, to be a bit more specific), from the Candlelight forum, which was this event in Los Angeles, CA, run by my school, Regent, and it's an alumni event for Communication students to network with industry. I totally networked with my best friends and the industry people I already knew, like Dean, Monica, and Thom, but I also met one of my heros, Tony Hale, who plays Buster on Arrested Development, one of my favorite shows. He was a real down to earth guy and he remembered me the next night.

Going back to LA made me long for it more, even though sometimes I'm really nervous and move to fictitious Waterbrook, a suburb in New England where i can find a cushy job, a husband and some kids, just like that. Of course, I'd have to trade in my Stratus for a mini van, for soccer season, but that's ok! (Waterbrook was invented when my friend forgot the name of the real place, Wakefield, that I said I'd live) (Another funny mispronounciation of a place is when someone called Wingershiek beach Washoobaba - I love my friends)

I am going to LA at the beginning of July though, and although I'm wicked nervous, and I'll miss my chowdah, I'm so excited of the challenges coming to me. I'll be staying with my friend Loni for a little bit while I'm looking for a full time apartment, and then I'll be living with my friend Rachel, which will be really fun. I'm glad I'll have my Regent loves as well as the great people I met at Act One to be there for me as I'm getting settled.

Tomorrow I meet with my committee about my portfolio, the scripts for the TV show I created, and the paper and story bible that go with it. A story bible is a sketch of the premise of the show, as well as characters, outlines, and my proposed first season. Tomorrow I find out if I pass or not. Pray for me or wish me luck for tomorrow at 11am.

Peace
